Large size Ozuku Asagi / Hardness 5+ / Fineness 5

 Japanese Natural Finishing Whetstone Ozuku Asagi.
  A stone mined over 100 years ago, it has an interesting kawa with some large amounts of silica. 
At 1.2kg and 5+ hardness, it can easily last one more century if used only for razor finishing. 
 
 In contrast to some Ozuku, this stone has quite a strong cutting power and puts some sharp edges that can shave very comfortable. 

 The size allows some very long laps during honing. 
In the last photo I placed a razor for size comparison.

  It is a super hard and superfine stone that I recommend it to be used as a final finisher at the end of the honing progression or to refresh the edge of the razor every time the shave is less comfortable and starts to pull the hair.

I will include a tomo of same fineness as a gift, however, diamond plate is the best option for such super hard stones. 

 An excellent base for those who prefer to use the  Mikawa nagura progression.
